The Rock has announced WWE WrestleMania 42’s location.
Last year after Royal Rumble 2024, Dwayne Johnson made his much-awaited return. He was soon involved in a WrestleMania 40 feud against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, with Roman Reigns by his side.
While Johnson and Reigns won on Night 1 of Mania 40, Cody Rhodes defeated his cousin Roman Reigns on the very next night for his Championship. Soon, going on a hiatus after that, The Brahma Bull later returned to Bad Blood and then again at Raw on Netflix premiere.
Displaying signs of a character shift, The Final Boss again returned tonight on the 21st February edition of SmackDown. Greeting the New Orleans crowd, The Rock announced that WrestleMania 42 will be held at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. The event will be held on April 11 and April 12, 2026.
This will mark the third-time, the Superdome will host WrestleMania. Previously, WrestleMania XXX and WrestleMania 34 were both held at the stadium.
The Rock’s SmackDown Appearance Required Certain Changes
The People’s Champion made his SmackDown appearance on a very short notice. On February 20th, news broke that The Rock would be making his return to TV. With very little time to adjust the show and change creative decisions, the promotion reportedly had to rework certain plans.
“Rumblings that both Naomi vs. Liv Morgan and the six-man tag featuring Cody, Priest & Strowman vs. Solo, Jacob & Tama Tonga are off. Drew McIntyre vs Jimmy Uso is still scheduled to take place.”
In other news: A brand new tag-team formation has been teased on SmackDown 02/21.
