While speculation persists that The Rock is heading back to WWE, the man himself is giving little away.
The wrestling world has been a hive of speculation in recent days and weeks with CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and The Rock all reportedly making their way back the the squared circle.
It was initially reported by Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast on July 22nd that The Great One would be returning to WWE at Survivor Series. The report added that while there was no news on whether the third generation star would wrestle, he was expected to appear in Brooklyn. It was also noted that the appearance would be used to help set up a potential clash with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 38.
Speaking during an interview with Entertainment Tonight, The Rock has now moved to address the speculation.
Appearing alongside co-star Emily Blunt, to promote his new film ‘Jungle Cruise,’ the WWE Superstar-turned Hollywood A-Lister said there was “nothing” he could tease about a potential comeback.
However, Blunt saw an opportunity to get in on the action herself, joking that she was going to return alongside the star, forming a tag team with the multiple-time WWE Champion.
A return to WWE at Survivor Series would be somewhat symbolic for the sure-fire Hall of Famer as he debuted at that very event 25 years ago this November at Madison Square Garden. On that occasion, he emerged as his team’s sole survivor.
The Rock hasn’t been seen on WWE television since appearing alongside Becky Lynch on the 20th-anniversary edition of SmackDown in October 2019.
