The Rock Chooses Side As New Tribal Chief Gets Crowned During WWE Raw On Netflix Premiere

Top WWE Star Compares And Contrasts Career With The Rock

The Rock has possibly made his intentions known.

The WWE-Netflix era has now officially begun. While Triple H kicked off the show with an iconic cold open, the return of The Rock followed it up, engaging the fans with his energetic promo and aura.

However, fans were instead left confused, and with multiple questions, after Dwayne Johnson behaved differently. Earlier last year, The Final Boss went on a hiatus after a battle of words against Cody Rhodes, as a heel post-WrestleMania 40. However, his return tonight was more babyface-ish.

Praising the crowd, hugging Cody Rhodes, and hyping the show, fans witnessed a different Brahma Bull, not the one they were familiar with last year. Later in the night, as Roman Reigns defeated Solo Sikoa, to crown himself the new Tribal Chief, he was met with the Black Adam actor marching down the ramp.

Awarding Roman Reigns with the Ula Fala, The Rock quietly stood in the corner, and let The Tribal Chief have his moment. Later, to close the segment, the two cousins shared an embrace before walking out.

Acknowledging Reigns as his tribal chief, The Rock, let his allegiance known in this feud. While fans earlier expected The People’s Champion to turn on The Big Dog, that plan seems to be off right now.

Dominik Mysterio Not A Fan Of The Rock And John Cena’s Return

Tonight on the 6th January episode of Raw, fans witnessed both The Rock and John Cena return. However, former NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio is not a big fan of these comebacks.

Speaking on the Busted Open Radio, ahead of Raw on Netflix premiere, Mysterio called them both “old heads” and commented,

I don’t even like to talk about these old heads because I feel like, no offense, but you got guys like [The] Rock and [John] Cena coming in, and it’s like, I don’t know, they saw something cool and they’re like, ‘Oh, let me jump on the train.”
