The Rock has fired back at those who dare to question his physique as he explains why he has a five and a half pack rather than a six-pack.
The Rock has conquered the wrestling world and the movie world, and anyone has ever seen the condition he keeps himself in, it’s clear that the 49-year-old has conquered the gym and then some.
However, during a recent WIRED ‘Autocomplete’ interview, the eight-time WWE Champion was asked by Jungle Cruise co-star Emily Blunt for a response on behalf of the many people searching the internet query “What’s wrong with The Rock’s abs?”
The Rock hit back immediately:
“That’s so f*cked up! There’s nothing wrong with them, no. Here’s the thing. I think because on Instagram, all these Instagram fitness models have these incredible six, eight, 12, 24-pack stomachs.”
“I got like a five-and-a-half pack, sometimes a four-and-a-half pack. But the problem was – which a lot of people don’t know – I tore in a wrestling match, I tore the top of my quad off my pelvis, it went bang, in a wrestling match. And then what that did was that caused a chain reaction and it tore my abdomen wall, so then I had to do a triple hernia emergency surgery, of a tear, a tear, and a tear [pointing to each tear].”
Although The Rock does not mention the match in question, he suffered serious tendon and muscle tears in his main event match with John Cena at WrestleMania 29. These injuries put paid to a supposed match being built towards WrestleMania 30 that would have seen The Rock square off with Brock Lesnar.
The Rock finished off his answer in typically electrifying style, giving the people searching that question a better one to look for:
“These f*cking a**holes who are Googling ‘what’s wrong with The Rock’s abs?’ Well, it’s called a wrestling match for 45 minutes and the top of my quad popped off my pelvis, and my adductor popped off my pelvis. And the pain I went through… I gotta fix that sh*t. I’m gonna Google ‘What did The Rock overcome?'”
During his time promoting his new movie, The Rock took some time to share his admiration for Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart who Rock says looked out for him during his early days in wrestling.
