The Reason Why Joe Hendry Appeared On NXT Recently

Who Chose Joe Hendry To Be Randy Orton's WrestleMania Opponent?

At the post Stand & Deliver episode of NXT, Joe Hendry dropped in for a surprise appearance.

Joe Hendry had just come off another surprise showing at WrestleMania 41 Sunday as the unannounced opponent for Randy Orton. However, the TNA World Champion wasn’t finished there and stopped by the BleauLive Theater where NXT was taking place.

During a promo segment with Trick Williams and NXT Champion Oba Femi, Hendry’s music played, much to the delight of the crowd but to the disdain of Williams specifically. Williams took offence to Hendry’s appearance and took several shots at the TNA star. Of course, the war of words turned into a fight, which saw Hendry and Femi toss Williams out of the ring before staring each other down.

After the appearance, Hendry spoke to Wrestle India and explained why he inserted himself into the segment.

“So first of all, Trick and Oba are at the top of the tree in NXT, and that’s why I went out and inserted myself into that situation because I have to be honest, this shoulder is growing because this (TNA World Title) is a heavy title, and I’m walking around with this all day. The muscle’s building here, and this shoulder feels a little bit left out. So you know what? I think the NXT championship would look pretty good there. No official plans or anything like that yet, but look, who doesn’t want to be the NXT champion? So that’s why I appeared on NXT, just to insert myself into the mix, and you know what? We’ll see what happens. That’s the amazing thing about this, is anything can happen at any time.”
