The Reason Dominik Mysterio Does Not Want To Wear A Mask In WWE

Dominik Mysterio has once again explained another reason why he does not want to follow in his father’s footsteps.

More than 18 months after he betrayed his father Rey Mysterio at WWE Clash at the Castle, Mysterio still has issues with his “deadbeat dad” and still looks to make the Hall of Famer’s life miserable. Still one of the most booed members of the roster, the former North American Champion has become the polar opposite of the beloved babyface that is his father. However, there was a point where this looked like it would never happen.

debuting on the main roster under the close tutelage of the Hall of Famer, “Dirty Dom” was being set up to continue the Mysterio legacy and take his father’s place as the popular Luchador. During multiple interviews, Rey Mysterio would say that when his son is worthy he would be gifted with a mask of his own to continue the legacy. However, according to The Judgment Day member, this is not something that he wants.

Appearing on The Ringer, Dominik Mysterio stated that he should have been awarded the mask from the very beginning but has had a change of heart as he does not want to hide his face:

“You know, I feel like I deserved the mask from the beginning. It’s the tradition. I should have wrestled Seth in a mask at SummerSlam, but at the end of the day, I’m too good looking. I got to show off the luscious mullet. I don’t think I’ll ever actually wear the mask full time, unless I lost a bet or my life depended on it to survive or it gave me magic powers or something. I would never actually cover this. I got a hell of a smile. I’m gonna take the Mysterio name to another level and I’m not gonna need a mask.”

Dominik Mysterio Responds To WrestleMania Interference

For the second straight year, the former Tag Team Champion has not got the result he wanted at WrestleMania. Looking to defeat his father on The Grandest Stage, Mysterio’s plans were thwarted by the arrival of 2 mystery men, who were later revealed to be Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson of the Philadelphia Eagles. During the same interview, Dominik Mysterio responded to the events that took place.

H/t to Fightful.
