The Real Reason Why John Cena Is Retiring

Triple H Elaborates On How Easy It Was To Convince John Cena To Finally Turn Heel

John Cena shared the real reason why he decided to retire from WWE.

On Stephanie’s Places, John Cena shared that the thought of retirement began when he gets disappointed in himself every time he goes to Hard Nocks South, the gym he frequented since his earlier years as a superstar, and a place he usually goes to feel good.

John Cena explained that he feels bad because he is surrounded by photos of people who can squat 600 pounds or do a 300-pound snatch, which are the things he can’t do anymore because his body is beat up.

The Last Real Champion then shared that his skills were lessening, adding that he wouldn’t perform well anymore if he continued being a superstar full-time, which could also affect his opponent.

“My skills are on regress. If I continue at a full-time physical capability or involvement, I’m not going to run right, my partner’s not going to run right, and our relationship isn’t going to run right. Sorry kid, it’s time to close this chapter.”

John Cena Reveals WWE’s Reaction When He Pitched His Farewell Tour

In the same appearance with Stephanie McMahon, The Last Real Champion shared that he wished he could return to when he could be physically 100% and noted how he found comfort in his wife’s presence. The superstar then shared that WWE had a welcoming reaction when he pitched his retirement tour.

“I wish I was 18. I wish I felt great, because I don’t feel more at home besides in the arms of my wife than I do on a canvas. I had to pitch this idea, a real wrestling farewell, and hope they would see the business in it. And they were like ‘Yes, this is going to be good.'”
