The Miz served as host of WrestleMania 39, but he got more action than he bargained for.
On night one of the blockbuster event, he and co-host Snoop Dogg were met with a surprise when a returning Pat McAfee issued a challenge to face Miz right then and there. Miz initially refused, saying he didn’t have the power to make matches official, but Snoop Dogg declared that the match was on. With help from NFL star George Kittle, McAfee was able to defeat The Miz, who according to McAfee didn’t find out about their match until just before it happened.
Miz was in for another surprise the next night when he was confronted by a returning Shane McMahon. However, when McMahon tore his quad following a leapfrog shortly after making his entrance, Snoop Dogg got involved and delivered a hilarious attempt at a People’s Elbow before pinning Miz.
Speaking in a new interview with Kyle Brandt’s Basement, The Miz opened up about his WrestleMania experience, blaming Snoop Dogg for his woes and vowing never to support the hip hop artist again, nor does he have any kind words for Kittle or McAfee.
“I’ll never listen to another Snoop Dogg album ever again. ‘Doggystyle’ was one of my first CDs I ever bought in high school and now I can’t even hear his voice anymore. He put me in three impromptu matches. No one has ever had three matches at WrestleMania. I did that this year. I guess I broke a record.
“I’ll never draft George Kittle as my tight end. I don’t care if he’s the last tight end. I will choose a quarterback, a running back, I will leave the tight end blank. I never want to hear George Kittle’s name. I will choose Kyle Rudolph over George Kittle. I’m never listening to the Pat McAfee Show ever again. I was a fan of Pat McAfee, but no more.”
“Stick In Your Lane, I’ll Stick In Mine” – The Miz Has Advice For George Kittle
Continuing, Miz detailed his experience with McAfee and San Francisco 49ers star George Kittle, complaining that his suit was ruined.
“While I’m talking to Snoop, McAfee sucker punches me. I roll out of the ring, get my bearings straight, George Kittle hops the barricade, no one stops him, and he takes my head off. McAfee punts my face off. It’s a handicap match and I’m in a $10,000 suit. The suit is ruined.”
When it comes to Kittle specifically, Miz thinks he should stick to football.
“He was very easy to push down and make him sit down. He was standing, I pushed him, and he almost fell over in his seat. That’s how strong I am. George Kittle is supposed to block people and I took him down. I’m thinking, maybe the 49ers want me as their tight end. There is no doubt the power, athleticism, and talent of George Kittle. You see it on display every Sunday. He has an immense amount of talent and is very strong.
“Stick in your lane, I’ll stick in mine. Enjoy Brock Purdy, maybe Sam Darnold, Trey Lance if he’s back. That whole team is injury prone, as well as George Kittle. I’m surprised his arm didn’t fall off when he hit my steel jaw.”
When it comes to Snoop, Miz says that one of the WWE Hall of Famer’s rings left an indent on his chin.
“He had those Death Row rings, which are basically like a brass knuckle. Knocked me once, my steel jaw took it, got back up and he had to do another sucker punch and then he does a people’s elbow. Those rings he had on, I still have an indent in my chin. I’m surprised he didn’t break his hand when he felt my jaw.”
Continuing, Miz made it clear that he wants nothing to do with Snoop Dogg after their encounters, and doesn’t want anything to do with dogs in general.
“I’m not drinking gin and juice. I will no longer doggystyle anymore, my apologies to my wife. I can’t even look at my dog. Anything between dogs, I’m out on.”
Miz had one more surprise bout the night after WrestleMania when a returning Matt Riddle confronted him on Monday Night Raw. The two will face off in singles action on April 10th.
