The Latest On The Rock's WWE Raw & WrestleMania Plans

A new update has been provided on The Rock’s intentions for the upcoming WWE Raw on Netflix premiere and WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.

WWE is gearing up for the biggest episode of Raw in years on January 6th as the highly-anticipated Netflix debut will take place. Given the magnitude of the event and the fact that it will air live from Los Angeles, many are expecting to see the Hollywood star make an appearance even though he has not been officially advertised for the show.

If Rock does make an appearance on Raw, fans are also anticipating that it will be more than a cameo appearance and will likely set up plans for WrestleMania 41, especially as Rock was last seen on WWE TV at Bad Blood staring down Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns. However, with recent reports indicating that The Rock may not appear at WrestleMania, much less compete, his status has remained uncertain for 2025 for quite some time.

As reported by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the belief within the company is that Rock will be at WrestleMania but his role is yet to be finalised:

“Nobody had directly told us that Dwayne Johnson will be on the show [Raw on Netflix premiere], but I would think there’s a good shot of it. There is a belief he’s doing WrestleMania, although nobody knows what capacity and as noted, Cena vs. Rhodes is right now scheduled meaning the original plans for Rhodes vs. Rock are off. But whatever Rock wants to do will happen and plans will change if he wants them to.

Whatever Rock is going to do, if he’ll have a prominent role, one would expect to be teased on 1/6 because with all the hype around that date, it’s expected that will be the largest audience for an episode of Raw this year, and maybe for years to come. WWE and Netflix have done a great job of hyping the change, and WWE historically in these situations does its biggest number on the new platform in the first week on that platform.”

Meltzer also adds that he has heard people “at the top” who are expecting Rock to return to the ring in Las Vegas, but it is not a certainty.

The Rock Looks Back On Training For In-Ring Return

At WrestleMania 40, The Final Boss competed in his first real match in over a decade as he teamed with Roman Reigns to take on Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes. Reflecting on the intense training camp to get ready for the WrestleMania bout, The Rock gave some insight into his preparation.
