Cristiano Ronaldo is never far from the headlines but not many would have predicted the latest reason he was trending on Twitter.
After falling out with Manchester United and just about everyone associated with the club, Ronaldo agreed a deal to join the Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr from January 1st, 2023. The monster deal is said to be worth a staggering 200 million Euros per year. However, things haven’t gone quite to plan for the Portuguese legend.
Al Nassr recently lost vital ground in the chase for the league title after slumping to a two-nil defeat to Al-Hilal, but that was only part of the story.
Cristiano Ronaldo Brings A Touch Of WWE To The Saudi Pro League
Ronaldo had a goal disallowed and found himself the butt of jokes on social media after being booked for a challenge that looked more at home in WWE than on the football pitch. The Al Nassr captain hit a near-picture-perfect Zig-Zag on opponent Gustavo Cuéllar, slamming him to the ground. Incredibly, Ronaldo was only given a yellow card for the move.
In response, Hurricane Shane Helms, who was known to break out a Zig-Zag or two during his own career, shared the clip alongside a shot of him hitting the move on Triple H.

It is unclear whether Ronaldo was angling for a spot on the card at WWE Night of Champions on May 27th or he if he was just frustrated at being upstaged by Odion Ighalo.
