The Hardys To Face The Young Bucks At Double Or Nothing

By James Holder. Published 21st May 2022.
The Hardys & The Young Bucks

The dream match is official, the Young Bucks will square off against The Hardys at AEW Double or Nothing on May 29th in Las Vegas.

After weeks of rising tension, it has been confirmed that two of the most decorated teams in history will do battle at Double or Nothing.

On the May 18th episode of Dynamite, Jeff Hardy squared off against Adam Cole in the first semi-final of the Owen Hart Foundation. After a hard-fought encounter, Cole nailed the face-painted former World Champion with the Boom to grab the win.

After the match, The Hardys were attacked by the Young Bucks, before Sting and Darby Allin got involved in the brawl which also featured reDRagon. The show went off the air with the Undisputed Elite standing tall.

On the following episode of Rampage, the Young Bucks officially laid down the challenge for Double or Nothing, and the match was confirmed later in the show.

The two teams are regarded as some of the most influential in modern professional wrestling history. From the moment that Jeff Hardy arrived in AEW to join his brother Matt, the match seemed inevitable with the two teams engaging in taunts across interviews and social media.

The Hardys and the Young Bucks haven’t met in the ring since competing in a Ladder Match at Ring of Honor’s Supercard of Honor on April 1st 2017.

At Double or Nothing all four of AEW’s championships will be on the line. Hangman Adam Page defends his AEW World Title against CM Punk, Thunder Rosa defends her women’s crown against Serena Deeb, while Jade Cargill puts her TBS Title on the line against Anna Jay.

The World Tag Team Titles will be on the line in a three-way match as Jurassic Express defend against Ricky Starks & Powerhouse Hobbs and Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland.
