The Hardys Set To Make Tag Team AEW Debut

The Hardys

The Hardys will ride again after Jeff Hardy joined AEW and now the company has confirmed the duo’s first match together to take place on Dynamite!

After months of speculation, Jeff Hardy debuted in AEW on the 9th of March edition of Dynamite. As the AHFO gathered in the ring, Andrade El Idolo proposed a vote on Matt Hardy’s future. While Hardy was initially backed up by Private Party, the young stars then turned their backs on Hardy, as Andrade attacked from behind.

With the beatdown underway, Sting and Darby Allin came to the ring to even the odds, but they were also overwhelmed. But all was not lost as Jeff Hardy entered to a thunderous ovation, reuniting with his brother Matt once more. The legendary team then turned the tables on their rivals to stand tall.

Now Matt Hardy will get his chance at revenge against two of his former charges as AEW has confirmed that The Hardys will be in action on Dynamite: St. Patrick’s Day Slam against Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen of Private Party.

The last time The Hardy Boys teamed together on television was way back in April 2019 on WWE SmackDown when they defeated The Usos to become SmackDown Tag Team Champions. That title run was cut short with the brothers having to relinquish the belts just a few weeks later after Jeff Hardy suffered a serious knee injury that required surgery.

The Hardys recently competed together for the first time in three years at Big Time Wrestling as they defeated Joel and Jose Maximo. The match was also Jeff’s first bout since being released from WWE in December 2021.

The current card for AEW Dynamite: St Patrick’s Day Slam currently looks like this:

  • Bryan Danielson & Jon Moxley (w/William Regal) vs. Chuck Taylor & Wheeler Yuta
  • Adam Cole & reDRagon vs. Hangman Adam Page & Jurassic Express
  • The Hardys vs. Private Party
  • TNT TitleScorpio Sky (c) vs. Wardlow
  • AEW Women’s World Championship – Steel Cage – Dr. Britt Baker DMD (c) vs. Thunder Rosa
