The Great Khali

The Great Khali has showed off a bizarre new look topped off by a fake moustache, even asking fans if he should keep his new furry facial accessory.

2021 has been a wild year for professional wrestling, and The Great Khali seems determined to make sure that it ends on a suitably bizarre note.

Seemingly in preparation for a new project, the WWE Hall of Famer took to social media to show off a new moustache. Before promptly posting an update which showed him revealing that his new lip warmer was in fact fake. In typical Great Khali style, the former World Champion asked fans whether he should keep his new addition.

The Great Khali’s social media profiles are a journey unto themselves, with the Punjabi Playboy never afraid to laugh at himself or play pranks on others. Earlier in the year, he posted a clip where an interview he was taking part in was interrupted.

Khali, with a look that can only be described as a disapproving parent, then rises to his feet grabbing the man by his hair. Not content with simply giving the man a telling off, Khali delivers a slap that could have felled a tree to leave him in a crumpled heap.

A quick scan of Khali’s Instagram account reveals that the man is something of a regular presence in the giant’s videos. It appears that catching hands from the former World Champion is also a semi regular occurrence!

After stints in New Japan Pro Wrestling, All Japan and CMLL, The Great Khali signed with WWE in January 2006. After spending a handful of months in developmental territory, Deep South Wrestling, Khali arrived on SmackDown in April. The giant star attacked The Undertaker on debut leaving him laying. This set up a rivalry between the pair which would run all the way to SummerSlam.

After a switch to ECW, Khali eventually made his way back to SmackDown as part of the 2007 Draft. After Edge was forced to relinquish the World Championship due to injury, Khali won a Battle Royal on the July 20th edition of SmackDown to claim the World Heavyweight Championship.

However, Khali would lose the championship to Batista at Unforgiven that September.

Through late 2008 and into 2009, Khali adopted a more fun-loving persona, (Something he’s continued onto his social media) being dubbed The Punjabi Playboy.

The Great Khali left WWE in November 2017 with the expiry of his contract, although he has sporadically appeared since. The former World Champion was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021.
