WWE have announced that the Great American Bash will return on Tuesday July 6th.
The legendary brand returned in 2020, as a two-night NXT special.
The Great American Bash is one of the most famous names in all of professional wrestling. The show debuted in 1985, with Tully Blanchard beating Dusty Rhodes in a Cage Match to claim the NWA World Television Championship. The event became a staple of Jim Crockett Promotions and WCW throughout the late 1980’s and 1990’s, with the final show under the WCW banner taking place in 2000.
Following WWE’s acquisition of WCW in 2001, The Great American Bash returned in 2004, running annually until 2009.
At the revamped 2020 event, Io Shirai defeated Sasha Banks in the main event of night one, while Keith Lee saw off Adam Cole adding the NXT Title to his North American Title in the main event of night two.
The announcement for the 2021 edition of the event was made during another returning brand, NXT TakeOver: In Your House.
The action packed show saw Raquel Gonzalez retain her NXT Women’s Title against Ember Moon, while MSK and Bronson Reed retained their Tag Team and North American Title’s in a spectacular contest against Legado del Fantasma.
The event also saw LA Knight claim the Million Dollar Championship.
