On last night’s edition of the season premier of Monday Night Raw, ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt made it his mission to target the vigilante group, RETRIBUTION.
The storyline came about after T-Bar posted a message to the entire WWE roster this weekend stating that no one was safe and everyone was dead. Wyatt responded to the message by stating that he was already dead before the group dragged Alexa Bliss into the argument.
The red brand opened last night with Alexa Bliss and Bray Wyatt confirming their union by holding hands in the middle of the ring. Seconds later, the bloc struck and surrounded the fearsome duo but failed to deal any damage.
As Mustafa Ali signaled for the lights to go out and his band to attack, both ‘The Fiend’ and Bliss disappeared into the abyss allowing The Hurt Business to hit the ring and initiate an 8-Man Tag Team Match.
At the conclusion of the bout, ‘The Fiend’ returned to stalk his prey. After RETRIBUTION had lost in a questionable manner, Wyatt’s alter ego appeared out of nowhere and attacked the quartet which caused Ali to flee from the ring and leave his squad to take a beating.
With Ali halfway up the aisle, the man who revealed himself as the SmackDown hacker was interrupted by Alexa Bliss on the titan tron. In Bray Wyatt’s voice, she encouraged Ali to “Let him in”.
While it’s unclear where this storyline is going, whether RETRIBUTION join forces with ‘The Fiend’ or hunt him down in the weeks to come, it appears that Monday nights have a fresh rivalry and much intrigue to build the rest of 2020 around.
