Ric Flair has revealed how his advice often falls on deaf ears.
The legendary wrestler has been named the greatest of all time by many of the biggest names in wrestling history. With that in mind, it could be argued that any advice that Flair has for the next generation of rising stars would be invaluable. However, according to the man himself, his opinion is not the one that is the most important.
Speaking with Breakfast Club Power, Flair was asked if he does give advice to the younger stars. Flair revealed that he has tried but the wrestlers are more interested in what online fans have to say:
“I try to, but I realize it doesn’t mean anything because the first thing they’re going to…they want to go look and see what the fans are saying. The fans run their life. Social media runs everything,”
Performing at a time when social media and the internet in general did not exist, The Nature Boy was asked what a younger Flair’s social media account would look like. The Hall of Famer jokingly responded that his online activity would have gotten him in a lot of trouble:
“He’d be in jail [laughs]. We’d be conducting this interview from Riker’s Island,”
Will Ric Flair Wrestle Again?
Following what was advertised as his last match in July 2022, it was speculated that it might not be the final time that The Nature Boy makes the walk to the ring as Flair himself admitted that he wished his final match could have been better. After stating that he felt that he could still go in the ring, Ric Flair clarified if he would wrestle again.
Flair famously has 16 World Championships to his name, a record that is still yet to be broken. John Cena has come the closest by also having 16 reigns with the top prize but looks unlikely to win the gold one more time. However, Charlotte Flair is very much in the prime of her career and already has 14 reigns on her resume. When the Hall of Famer was asked about the possibility of Charlotte Flair breaking the record, Ric Flair responded that it has to happen.
H/t to Fightful.
