After months of speculation, The Devil revealed himself at Worlds End.
The Devil and his henchman have been a thorn in MJF‘s side since September. In the last few months, they have also attacked many AEW stars including The Acclaimed, Jay White, and Adam Page.
However, the focus has always been firmly on Maxwell Jacob Friedman. On the special New Year’s Slam edition of Dynamite on December 27th, The Devil’s Masked Men scored their biggest victory over Friedman to date when they robbed him of the ROH Tag Team Titles he won with Adam Cole at All In at Wembley Stadium in London back in August.
At Worlds End, everything came crashing down for MJF when Samoa Joe defeated MJF for the AEW World Championship he had held for over 400 days. Things went from bad to worse when The Devil finally unmasked himself to the world.
Adam Cole Is The Devil Of AEW
After MJF’s defeat, Adam Cole was there to console his fallen friend only for the masked men to make an appearance. The arena lights then went out, and when they came back on Cole was sitting on a chair flanked by the Devil’s men.
The men took off their masks, showing themselves to be The Kingdom’s Roderick Strong, Mike Bennett, and Matt Taven alongside Wardlow – who had claimed to be in London ahead of the event – before launching a vicious assault on MJF. Adam Cole then took out The Devil’s mask from his jacket and joined his henchman in celebrating in the ring to close the show.
