AEW Star The Butcher has reportedly suffered from an injury that could keep him out of the ring for several months during the latest episode of Dynamite.
On the November 17th edition of Dynamite, another chapter in the ongoing feud between the Best Friends and Hardy Family Office was written when The Butcher and The Blade took on Orange Cassidy and one of his newfound CHOAS teammates, NJPW NEVER Openweight Champion Tomohiro Ishii, who was making his debut for the company.
Ishii and The Butcher had several brutal clashes during the bout, with the ‘Stone Pitbull’ eventually getting the upper hand and putting Butcher away with a Vertical Drop Brainbuster.
It has now been reported by Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live that Butcher suffered torn biceps during the bout. While there was no update on the timeframe for his return, this type of injury normally means 3-4 months on the shelf. Colt Cabana posted footage from backstage after the event, showing that he had an icepack strapped to his biceps.
This is the second injury The Butcher has sustained this year, as on April 9th his hand was injured during a clash with Darby Allin over the TNT Championship at AEW’s first house show event, ‘The House Always Wins’. That injury kept him out of action for several months until he returned to action at All Out on September 5th.
