The Briscoes Re-Sign With ROH

The Briscoes Jay Briscoe Mark Briscoe make their entrance at ROH Supercard Of Honor 2022

Despite speculation they wouldn’t be featured in a Tony Khan-helmed ROH, The Briscoes will indeed be sticking around in the company they helped build.

When Tony Khan purchased Ring Of Honor earlier this year, a roster overhaul was to be expected. Many are confirmed to have departed, including company stalwart Delirious, while others have signed deals to appear on AEW programming, such as Jay Lethal. As far as The Briscoes were concerned, however, they appeared to be free agents.

Reports had emerged following Tony Khan’s buyout of the company that The Briscoes weren’t wanted on AEW television by WarnerMedia; instead, they’ll remain in Ring Of Honor, as confirmed by Khan himself.

The AEW executive noted that the ROH Hall of Famers are signed to the promotion during today’s media call prior to Saturday’s Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view. It’s unknown how long their deal is currently for.

Since ROH’s 2022 inception, both Jay and Mark have been featured extensively. The former, in particular, was a main event star at one stage, holding the ROH World Championship twice and headlining several ROH pay-per-views. Together, they’ve held the ROH World Tag Team Championships a record twelve times.

More recently, the brothers had been appearing for IMPACT Wrestling. Debuting on IMPACT’s WrestleMania weekend event Multiverse of Matches, The Briscoes ended up capturing the Anthem-helmed promotion’s World Tag Team Championships from Violent By Design.

They’re scheduled to challenge FTR for the ROH titles at Death Before Dishonor on Saturday evening, which will be contested as a 2 Out Of 3 Falls match. The two tandems’ initial outing from April was rated five stars.
