Harv and Gurv Sihra, formerly Samir and Sunil Singh in the WWE, have revealed some recent wisdom imparted on them by none other than WWE Hall of Famer, Shawn Michaels.
Speaking with another D-Generation X alumni in Sean Waltman, on the Pro Wrestling 4 Life podcast, Gurv described how they had routinely pitched ideas to WWE’s creative team during their stint in the company:
There’s so many creative ideas as far as the schtick that we were doing, the whole Bollywood Boyz, you got an untapped market of over a billion people, and there’s so many video vignettes that we could have done. And we were pitching, pitching, pitching, and we had patience like, it’s gonna happen. It’s gonna happen, but sure enough, it’ll happen outside the WWE. We’re excited. We’re damn stoked.
Despite their best efforts, the pair were released on June 25th alongside a number of NXT and 205 Live talents and will likely court interest from various groups outside of the WWE.
However, a conversation with the Heartbreak Kid just prior to their departures has apparently proved a direct source of inspiration:
Three weeks ago, we were at the PC, just before TVs, we’re talking to Shawn Michaels, and Shawn was having a conversation with us.
This is just him spitballing three weeks prior to all this happening. He said, ‘Sometimes, it’s okay to step away, go get better, or just go get over elsewhere and then make them realize, hey, you know what, you guys dropped the ball here.’ So that’s where we’re at. Now it’s time for us to really go shine and see what we got.
The duo were recently praised by future Hall of Famer Randy Orton, who tweeted about his respect for the pair and noting how he expected to see them ‘down the road’.
