Unified WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns’ grip on WWE could be about to get even stronger as his Bloodline group is set to get a new member.
The WWE landscape changed forever when Roman Reigns returned to the company after a short hiatus at SummerSlam 2020 and soon reclaimed his WWE Universal Championship. The Big Dog of old was gone and now aligned with Paul Heyman, The Tribal Chief was born.
Initially Reigns found himself feuding with his cousin Jey Uso leading to a couple of brutal bouts for the Universal Title. The family bonds run deep in the Anoa’i family however and soon Jey Uso was his cousin’s right-hand man. Jimmy Uso returned from injury in the summer of 2021 and although initially unsure of this alliance, eventually recognised Reigns as his Tribal Chief as well.
At WrestleMania 38 Roman Reigns solidified his grip on the top of WWE by defeating Brock Lesnar in a winner take all match to become the Unified WWE Universal Champion. In May 2022, The Usos matched their cousin’s achievement as they defeated RK-Bro to unify both the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships.
If this success wasn’t enough, it now looks like the group could be getting a new member. Fightful Select has reported that NXT star Sola Sikoa is set for a call-up to the WWE main roster and could very well join his older brothers The Usos and cousin Roman Reigns in The Bloodline.
The decision to put Sikoa with his family is yet to be decided and it is still not confirmed if he will be part of the Raw or SmackDown brand when he is called up.
Sola Sikoa recently spoke to BT Sport where he discussed previous plans within WWE to team him up with his family:
“At the end of the day, it’s so easy to go back and say I’m [The Uso] brother, I’m their family… I want people to recognize me for me. I think before I started, before I debuted on TV- The creative were like ‘We’ll just put you with your brothers’ and then the next meeting was like ‘Let’s see what you can do on your own’ and I felt like that was a fire day.”
Should The Bloodline recruit Sikoa then with their history of unifying championships, both US Champion Theory and Intercontinental Champion Gunther might want to watch their backs.
