Earlier today, Nikki and Brie Bella announced that they were leaving their lives as The Bella Twins behind and that they would be known as The Garcia Twins going forward.

“Hi I’m Nikki Garcia, Hi I’m Brie Garcia. And we’re the Garcia Twins. Welcome to our next chapter!”

The Bella Twins Are Entering A New Chapter In Their Lives As The Garcia Twins

The WWE Hall of Famers have also renamed their podcast to The Nikki & Brie Show and will be moving to SiriusXM. Speaking on the latest episode, they explained their decision while confirming that they’re no longer under contract to the sports entertainment giant.

Nikki spoke first, stating:

“Our listeners and everyone in the world right now is asking why? Why, you had this amazing name that you got from your grandfather Pop-Pop who’d always call us ‘my bellas, my bellas.’ And so why after 17 years is that gone?

“Brie and I, almost 40, we’re going to be 40 in November. We’re mothers, we’re entrepreneurs, we’re executive producers, we’re starring, now we’re hosting shows, winemakers, and when our contracts came up with WWE, mutually we all knew like, we just needed to head into this new chapter.”

Brie chimed in next, expressing gratitude for her former identity while saying she’s excited to start a new chapter in life and career alongside her twin.

“I just want to thank Brie Bella. Brie Bella, the character, the name, all of it that I have been the last, you know, pretty much the last, I don’t know, 16 or 17 years. I’m so excited to close that chapter on Brie Bella, put that book to the side, and open up a new one, and see what Brie Garcia is gonna do next.”

Nikki also thanked the Bella portion of her life, saying she’s “beyond grateful” and that she’ll continue to have a positive influence under her new name.

“And I am so beyond grateful for Nikki Bella, Nikki Bella whoa, she empowered me, she inspired me, she truly made me become fearless. And the road that she has paved and what she has done for women and the youth and will continue to do, just as Nikki Garcia.”

The twins last competed inside the squared circle as part of the 2022 Royal Rumble, which went on to be won by a returning Ronda Rousey.

While Brie Garcia’s husband Bryan Danielson is currently contracted to AEW, there is no indication that the twins plan to work in wrestling going forward as they have numerous other business ventures.
