“The Beef Was Never On My Wife’s Side” – Seth Rollins On Ric Flair’s Apology To Becky Lynch

Though known for many iconic on-screen rivalries, Ric Flair also found himself embroiled in a behind-the-scenes feud with Becky Lynch in recent years.

Their issues stemmed in large part from Flair accusing Lynch of stealing the name ‘The Man’ from him, even claiming that she’s stolen the most from him out of anyone in his whole career. Becky Lynch hasn’t been shy about clapping back on these accusations, calling Ric Flair “sad” and saying that he was “losing his mind.”

However, Flair recently apologized to Lynch as both were backstage for Raw’s 30th anniversary celebration on January 23rd.

Speaking on the latest episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Lynch’s husband Seth Rollins opened up about Flair’s apology to his wife, saying their issues are settled once and for all. While he makes it clear that Flair was the instigator of the feud between the two, he’s happy that their animosity is resolved as he has great respect for the WWE Hall of Famer.

“I’ll put it out there right now, beef squashed between Ric Flair and Becky Lynch. To be fair, the beef was never on my wife’s side, she never had beef with Ric. Ric had beef with her.

“He was man enough to come up and apologize to myself and to her and I thought that was awesome because I love Ric and I want to have a ton of respect for him and the fact that he was able to put his ego aside, bygones be bygones, we had a good moment at Raw XXX and he is The Nature Boy, one of the greatest of all time, on the Mount Rushmore on any wrestling list of all time.” (h/t F4WOnline)

Ric Flair Revealed Why He Apologized to Becky Lynch At WWE Raw

Speaking on a recent episode of his To Be the Man podcast, Flair spoke about his apology to Lynch, saying that he approached her face to face as well as shaking her husband’s hand.

“It started out with me and Hunter talking for about an hour, which is a private discussion, but resolving a lot of issues that have been lingering for a couple years, and then I apologized to Becky Lynch. I walked up to her and said, ‘May I speak with you for a minute’, and I said, ‘I’m sorry that this got to where it is.’ I went over and shook Seth Rollins hand and I said, ‘I’m going to apologize to your wife.’”

Continuing, the 16-time world champion said that he decided to settle their issues when he saw Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins with their daughter Roux.

“I’ve just decided that, you know, it all comes with the documentary. Sometimes you get so wrapped up in things that you just forget, and you say it so many times for so many years. Actually, the whole ‘The Man’ trademark was decided by someone besides she and I. It’s not that as much as the money that was involved in it which the company reaps the better part of it anyway.

“Then I saw them with their child and I thought, ‘My God, this is going to be Ashley someday.’ It’s not worth it. I am not The Man anymore. The Man is who the people think it is, and basically we’ve turned it over to social media to decide who The Man is.” (h/t WrestlingNews.co)
