A member of the AEW roster has given praise to Christian Cage for guiding them in their pro wrestling career.
At just 19 years of age, Nick Wayne has competed in multiple matches broadcasted around the world and has had to deal with the pressure of cutting promos on live TV. Looking to better himself for the future, the former Trios Champion has admitted that the alliance with the leader of The Patriarchy also extends behind the scenes.
Appearing on the Battleground Podcast, Wayne stated that he was thankful to ask both Cage and Sting for advice on his matches, adding that he was not afraid of critiques:
“Getting to be under the learning tree of guys like Christian and once at a time Sting. It’s just unreal the fact that I’m so young and have a guy like that at arm’s reach of distance that I can just reach out to whenever and get critique. I was once asking Sting, and now asking Christian ‘Please watch my matches and just tear me apart with critiques because I wanna get better.’ It’s great to hear what they have to say, they’re some of the best to do it. Everywhere they’ve gone they’ve succeeded in their career, and I want to do the same thing.”
Continuing, Wayne noted that his mic skills could be improved, so is grateful that Cage’s wisdom has been passed down:
“I’ve always thought my promos were my weak point … But having Christian who is like the best at promos, you couldn’t ask for a better teacher. He helps me, I’m feeling so much more confident now talking and cutting promos and whatnot.”
Christian Cage Loses And Wins At AEW All In
All In was a night of mixed fortunes for the former TNT Champion. In the opening contest, The Patriarchy lost the Trios Championships in a chaotic ladder match. Later that night, Cage appeared once again, this time in the Casino Gauntlet match. Thanks to an assist from Killswitch, Cage now has a guaranteed opportunity at the World Championship. The Casino Gauntlet match also saw the surprise return of Nigel McGuinness.
