Ricky Starks has reflected on a match that was a career highlight for him in AEW.

At All Out 2023, Starks took on Bryan Danielson in a Strap Match, with The American Dragon fighting in place of Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat. The brutal match saw interference from Big Bill, but Danielson was able to overcome the odds to put Starks away with a LeBell Lock, forcing the young star to pass out.

During a live signing for Highspots, Starks was asked about the match. The star said he was glad people enjoyed it, and called the bout a “very high point” for him.

“I’m glad that people really enjoyed that Strap match. Personally, it was a very high point for me.”

Ricky Starks Addresses AEW Absence

Having been absent for several months now and amid rumours of being WWE-bound, Ricky Starks has addressed his current status. The star says he is not out of action because of injury and is ready to get back in the ring if he gets the call. Unfortunately, he says it isn’t up to him.

“I wish I can give an answer (as to why I’m not on television). I’m healthy, I’m ready to get back in the ring. I am in shape obviously, always been in shape. Sometimes it just isn’t up to me, I guess, as they say. So, I love wrestling and I’m gonna figure out a way to do it one way or another.”
