It has been announced that Hangman Adam Page will defend his AEW World Championship in a huge Texas Death Match!
The rivalry between Hangman Adam Page and Adam Cole has been escalating for a number of months and shows no sign of subsiding.
After rising to the top of the AEW rankings, Adam Cole challenged for the World Championship at Revolution. However, despite pushing Adam Page all of the way, it was Hangman who eventually claimed the win. Not that Cole took the defeat lightly.
In the weeks that followed Revolution, Cole has continued to get under the skin of the champion, attacking him at every opportunity, even stealing his championship belt. The former NXT star even teamed with reDRagon to pick up a win over Page and the Jurassic Express on the March 16th episode of Dynamite.
On April 6th, Cole opened Dynamite taking on Christian Cage in singles action for the first time in his career.
In a highly competitive outing, Cage used every inch of his vast experience to go toe-to-toe with Cole, almost stealing the win on more than one occasion. Although, despite is best efforts it was the former NXT Champion who sneaked the win.
After the match, reDRagon came to the ring to continue brawl, before they were chased off by Jurassic Express. With the feuding tag teams out of the way, Adam Page made his way to the ring, getting straight up in the face of his rival.
A fired up Adam Page said that if Cole wanted a rematch so badly he could give him one, but only on his terms. This resulted in him laying down a challenge of a Texas Death Match on the live episode of AEW Rampage on April 15th in Dallas, Texas.
