Rhea Ripley shared disturbing details of a fan turning up at her and Buddy Matthews‘ house.
Obsessed stalkers are one of the most unfortunate realities that wrestlers have to deal with regularly. Recently, Rhea Ripley recalled a rather creepy incident involving a stalker.
Speaking on the Insight with Chris Van Vliet show, the former Rhea Ripley shared an anecdote of a woman showing up at her and Buddy Matthews’ doorstep,
Fortunately, the couple was vacationing in Australia, and Rhea shared that they were alerted about the situation on their Ring camera. She stressed the fact that this was not normal behavior and added that what made the incident more terrifying was the fan creepily smiling into the camera. She said:
“We looked at the Ring camera, and there’s some chick at our door, and I didn’t think anything of it. And I was like, Why does she keep ringing the doorbell and just stand there for eternity? And then we had our Australian friends who live near us, and they came to pick up our mail, and they go, ‘This is for Rhea Ripley. I think it’s fan mail?’ I was like, Oh no, who the hell has my address? That’s just something that people shouldn’t be doing.
That’s kind of like crossing the line. We are normal people outside of work, and we like our privacy. We like to have our normal humanity. But I went back and I watched the Ring doorbell, and this chick was like she just came out of the movie Smile. I’m sorry if you’re watching this, lady, but you were terrifying. She was scary, she rang the doorbell, she got real close to it and just [smiles creepily].”
Rhea added that the obsessed fan visited multiple times during the day and also admitted she was afraid of what would happen if she opened the door. She also added that she was surprised about how the fan could reach her residence, as it is in a gated community. She said:
“If I was home, I wouldn’t know what to do. If I opened the door and she was just standing there, what could have happened? She could have done anything, I don’t know you; you could have attacked me, and I don’t know how she got her car in the gate. We have a gated community, no one lets you in, terrifying.”
You can hear Rhea Ripley talking about the incident at the 58:24 mark.
Rhea Ripley Is Not The Only One Who Faced Stalkers Recently
Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident.
There have been multiple incidents of crazed fans stalking their favorite wrestlers, with Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez being the latest victims of this horrifying trend.
Wrestlers, just like everyone else, deserve to have their personal space and privacy. With swift action being taken on stalkers, there is hope that incidents like these will be a thing of the past.
