Despite being out of action since September 2020, NXT Superstar Tegan Nox has been keeping a keen eye on the competition.

Appearing on WWE’s The Bump, Tegan Nox reserved special praise for NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez, while also setting her sights on a return to the ring.

After the Welsh Superstar suffered torn ACL back in September, details about a potential return to action have been scarce. Reflecting on her injury, Nox said that she is biding her time before jumping back into the thick of the action.

“It’s going well! It’s not my first rodeo, as we all know, but it’s been a little bit easier this time. I’m just biding my time on when to come back and try to make an impact this time,”

While Nox has been out of action, NXT has introduced their own Women’s Tag Team Titles. One half of which is currently held by the former Shimmer star’s rival Candice LeRae. Something that hasn’t gone unnoticed as Nox lines up a potential partner.

“See, that’s the thing: friends don’t end well for me. They always attack me. So, trying to find a partner is [shakes her head], oof. I don’t know. I’d like to have an Io [Shirai]. I think that could be quite interesting. Any gold is good for me,”

The 26-year-old also revealed that she’s had her eye on NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez, a women she describes as “incredible.”

“She’s incredible. The strength in her is ridiculous,” Nox mentioned. “She was around the Performance Center when I came in, and just seeing her evolve from then to now as this immovable object, she’s indestructible. It’s mind-blowing to see. I’ll have a good go of beating her, but I’m also scared ’cause that powerbomb really, really hurts.”

Nox was then reminded that she had in fact defeated Gonzalez before, a little over a year ago. Even if she had forgotten about the win!

“See, I forgot about that. That’s a surprise for me. I can do it!”

Since reappearing in NXT as Raquel Gonzalez in early 2020, the woman who had been known as Reina Gonzalez has been the most impressive run of her career.

Arriving back in NXT, Gonzalez immediately united with Dakota Kai. The pair later won the first ever Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic before being crowned the inaugural NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions. At NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver, Gonzalez also defeated Io Shirai to win the NXT Women’s Championship. Her most recent title defence coming at TakeOver: In Your House against Ember Moon.
