Teddy Long Has Nothing Good To Say About Ric Flair

Teddy Long still has no love for Ric Flair.

While Ric Flair is regarded by many as one of the greatest professional wrestlers in history, his lengthy career was also shrouded in controversy. After reinventing himself in the ring following a serious back injury, Flair became the “Nature Boy,” portraying the character of a cocky millionaire playboy, eventually, there was no difference between Flair the man, and Flair the wrestling personality.

His partying antics are the stuff of wrestling infamy, he drank to excess, was unfaithful to multiple wives, and it’s since been alleged that he sexually harassed an air stewardess while under the influence during the ‘Plane Ride From Hell’ in 2002.

It’s also been claimed that the star used a racial slur toward WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long when the pair worked together during the early 1980s.

Speaking during a Q&A with Sportskeeda, Long was recently asked about people paying homage to Flair, and simply replied “No comment.”

“No comment.” Long continued, “Like I said. If you’ve got nothing good to say about anybody, just don’t say nothing.”

The alleged incident between Flair and Long took place while Long was working as a referee. During a 2020 interview with Hannibal TV, Long recalled the interaction, which involved being yelled at by the 16-time World Champion. At the time of the interview, Long said that Flair never offered an apology for his alleged behaviour.

“One time in Knoxville, Tennesse I think and I know there were some girls that were trying to come into the back of the arena and then I think he was maybe at that door and they said some girls threw me under the bus. I don’t even know who they were, I was refereeing. They used my name and said that I told them that they could come in or they could come to the back door or something like that. So he runs into me and the next thing I hear him say to me is “N, do you like working here?”

When Were Ric Flair And Teddy Long Last In WWE?

Despite their respective wrestling careers being over, both Ric Flair and Teddy Long have continued to make appearances for WWE. Flair made his most recent appearance on the 30th-anniversary special of Monday Night Raw, while Long was involved in both nights of the WWE Draft in April and May.

In recent news, Teddy Long spoke about a time when Gary Hart gave him a blade to cut Ric Flair’s throat.
