ECW legend Taz has shared a never before seen photo from his first ever photoshoot in 1986.
Taz shared the snap on Twitter, explaining that it was taken at Cambridge Studios in Queens, New York where his Aunt worked. Despite the discount, AEW’s announcer turned manager apparently still had to save for two weeks!
The former WWE announcer followed up by revealing that the photo was taken only a few weeks before his first ever match.
Trained by Johnny Rodz, Taz enjoyed his first significant run as Kid Krush in Puerto Rico. However, it wasn’t until he transitioned into ‘The Tazmaniac’ in the early 1990’s that he began to establish himself on a national level.
The Tazmaniac joined ECW in 1993, appearing regularly until he sustained a serious neck injury in the summer of 1995. Following his return from injury the man now known as Taz donned is signature black singlet, dominating opponents with a series of Suplexes and submissions.

Taz enjoyed huge success with the company before joining WWE in 2000. Wrestling as Tazz, the New Yorker famously defeated Kurt Angle at Madison Square Garden in his debut match. After a series of injuries as well as the wear and tear from a punishing career, Tazz eventually transitioned into a commentary role.
The former ECW Champion later left WWE, enjoying a stint in TNA. Taz left TNA in 2015, going on to host his own podcast and radio show before joining AEW in 2019.
Taz initially appeared as a commentator on AEW Dark before taking command of Team Taz. During their time together, the group made up of Brian Cage, Ricky Starks, Powerhouse Hobbs and Hook have feuded with the likes of Sting, Darby Allin and Cody Rhodes.
