Taya Valkyrie Makes IMPACT Wrestling Return

Taya Valkyrie

Former WWE Superstar Taya Valkyrie has made her return to IMPACT Wrestling for the first time since her surprising WWE release back in 2021.

At IMPACT Wrestling’s Multiverse of Matches, Deonna Purrazzo defended her AAA Reina de Reinas Title against Faby Apache. The Virtuosa didn’t have much time to celebrate her victory however as she was soon confronted by a returning Taya Valkyrie who challenged Purrazzo to a match for her title at the upcoming Rebellion show.

As Franky Monet, Taya Valkyrie appeared for the first time on WWE television on the April 13th, 2021 edition of NXT. During her time as part of the NXT brand, Franky Monet only wrestled six times before she was released just seven months later in November.

Prior to her run in WWE Taya Valkyrie had been a part of IMPACT Wrestling for three and a half years where she became the longest-reigning Knockouts Champion of all time. Ironically, Taya Valkyrie’s final opponent in her first run in IMPACT was Deonna Purrazzo with Purrazzo picking up the win at Hard To Kill 2021.

IMPACT Wrestling presents Rebellion on Saturday, the 23rd of April live on pay-per-view. Moose will defend the IMPACT Wrestling World Championship against John Alexander on the show and Tasha Steelz will put her Knockouts Title on the line against Rosemary.

Trey Miguel will defend his X Division Championship against ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey and Ace Austin in a Triple Threat match, JONAH will face NJPW star Tomohiro Ishii, and Eddie Edwards will face the undisputed ROH Champion Jonathan Gresham.
