Tay Conti Deactivates Social Media Account Following Online Abuse

AEW star Tay Conti has deactivated her Twitter account following a torrent of abuse she received in the aftermath of Sammy Guevara announcing the end of his engagement to Pam Nizio.

Sammy Guevara and his long-time girlfriend Pam Nizio were engaged after he proposed to her in an AEW ring in their hometown of Houston, Texas ahead of the August 18th, 2021 episode of Dynamite. Just three months later, on December 18th, he released a statement on Twitter announcing that the two were no longer in a relationship.

“I know a lot of you have supported us for a long time and we have appreciated it so much over the past several years. Since you’ve all given us so much love and support we figured we owed it to y’all to let you know that we are no longer in a relationship. We still love each other and wish nothing but the best for one another. We would appreciate your kindness and respect our privacy during this time.”

Several weeks ago, Tay Conti revealed on Instagram that she and her husband, Brazilian Judo fighter Jorge Conti, have been separated for some time.

This, as well as Conti appearing more in Guevara’s popular vlog recently, led to many Twitter users sending Conti vicious messages making unfounded accusations of her having an affair with the TNT Champion and causing the break up of his relationship. It appears that Conti has had enough of the abuse and deactivated her account, at least for the time being.

The pair addressed similar rumours on a recent vlog, with Conti rolling her eyes at the accusation and laughing it off, making clear she had no interest in Guevara beyond his friendship.

Guevara has also since tweeted his response to the backlash.

“This shouldn’t have to be said… but my relationship with Pam ending had nothing to do with ANYONE else. Pam and I broke up back in October and just now felt was the time to make it publicly known. So please stop pointing fingers and looking for someone to blame.”
