Talents “Frustrated” With Andrade And Sammy Guevara Situation

A report has claimed that a number of AEW talents are frustrated by the situation surrounding Andrade El Idolo and Sammy Guevara.

Before tensions between Sammy Guevara and Andrade El Idolo finally exploded at the October 5th AEW Dynamite taping the pair had been taking shots at each other on social media.

The issues appeared to stem from comments made by Andrade in an interview where he discussed Guevara complaining about being hit too hard during an earlier match. This sparked a war of words on social media where Guevara said that Andrade was only in AEW as a “favour hire” and wanted to return to WWE.

Off the back of these comments a report from Fightful Select noted that a “top talent” was frustrated with how the situation had played out as it painted a poor picture of the AEW locker room. It was only recently said that the locker room was back on the right track after a meeting held by Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho and Bryan Danielson. The meeting was in reaction to the chaotic scenes following All Out which saw a number of talents suspended.

An “AEW original” said that the recent situation was “disrespectful” to the work Moxley, Jericho and Danielson had been put in. Especially as one of the key points in recent weeks has been to keep any issues in-house.

Editors note: This report was released before the incident at the October 5th Dynamite taping.

Little did those backstage know, things were only going to get worse. On October 5th the former NXT Champion and Guevara got into an altercation backstage with punches being thrown by the ex-WWE star. Andrade was then sent home, while the Spanish God worked the main event as planned.

A further report from Fightful Select noted that Andrade was the aggressor in the confrontation, although some claimed he was pushed by Guevara. The report also notes that both men had previously agreed that there wouldn’t be a physical altercation.

These comments fall in line with other reports where it was suggested that Andrade punched Guevara twice while the TNT Champion tried not to get involved. It has also been claimed that Andrade purposely instigated the incident in an effort to get fired so that he can return to WWE.
