Have Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay become AEW EVPs?
A few days ago, on July 12th at the All In PPV, Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay defeated The Young Bucks in a highly-acclaimed tag-team match. However, following the conclusion of the match, fans found online a major change to the roster.
After the bout concluded, All Elite Wrestling’s roster page displayed Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland as the new EVPs of the promotion. Their match against The Young Bucks held the stipulation that if Matt and Nick Jackson lost, they had to give up their ‘EVP’ status, while if Strickland and Ospreay lost, they would not receive future World title shots.
However, now, a couple of days after the website update, former World Champion Strickland recently took to X(Twitter) to share his statement on the rumored ‘EVP’ position.
“I’m not an EVP.”
Ospreay and Strickland had insisted beforehand that they were not interested in taking over The Young Bucks’ management position. While Strickland shared his statement on the rumors, the roster page also no longer labels Strickland and Ospreay as EVPs. The Aerial Assassin has not yet officially commented on this.
Strickland is now involved in a feud against the new Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada, while Will Ospreay is reportedly on a hiatus.
