Suzuki-Gun To Confront Jon Moxley On Next Week’s AEW Dynamite

Jon Moxley Minoru Suzuki

Jon Moxley may have put seven stitches in the head of Minoru Suzuki on AEW Dynamite but The King is returning to confront Moxley again and he won’t be alone.

Minoru Suzuki will be joined Suzuki-gun partner Lance Archer on the 15th of September episode of Dynamite that will emanate from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

AEW confirmed on social media that the two men will be issuing a new challenge to the former AEW World Champion:

The legend @suzuki_D_minoru + his protege & longtime partner #LanceArcher were both furious about preferential hometown treatment @JonMoxley received last night at #AEWDynamite! We’ll hear from Suzuki-gun NEXT WEDNESDAY on #AEWDynamite, where they’ll issue a new challenge to Mox!”

In Jon Moxley’s hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio Moxley faced Minoru Suzuki in one on one action after the NJPW star confronted and attacked Moxley at All Out. Jon Moxley had just defeated Satoshi Kojima on pay-per-view when Suzuki made his presence felt, ultimately dropping Moxley with a Gotch Style Piledriver.

In their main event match on AEW Dynamite Moxley came out on top when he dropped Suzuki with a Paradigm Shift for the victory. This is the second time Moxley has defeated Suzuki one-on-one after their first singles encounter in February 2020 at The New Beginning in Osaka with the IWGP US Championship on the line.

Lance Archer – who defeated Moxley for his IWGP US Title – first teamed up with Minoru Suzuki in Suzuki-gun a decade ago in 2011. Since then when Archer has been a part of NJPW, he has been aligned with the group. He spent most of his time in Suzuki-gun teaming with Davey Boy Smith Jr. as the Killer Elite Squad, winning the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Title on three occasions.

Also advertised for AEW Dynamite in Newark is Shawn Spears facing Darby Allin with fans of a certain vintage surely keeping an eye out for any interaction between Tully Blanchard and Sting at ringside.

Jade Cargill will face Leyla Hirsch in one on one action and Adam Cole makes his in-ring AEW debut as he takes on ‘The Elite Hunter’ Frankie Kazarian.
