Following the chaos that engulfed All Out and the suspensions that came after, a new report has suggested that one of those suspended by AEW is back at work.
As the assembled wrestling media waited for CM Punk to toast his latest World Championship victory at All Out, no one could have been quite prepared for what came next. Instead of reflecting on his feel-good climb back to the top of AEW, Punk launched a verbal assault on everyone he felt that had wronged him in recent months including The Young Bucks and Adam Page.
Once Punk was done and headed backstage, he was confronted by The Young Bucks and a fight broke out which ended up with punches and chairs being thrown, and Kenny Omega being bitten.
As a result of the chaos, several stars and staff in AEW were suspended while investigations took place into what happened. Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, Brandon Cutler, Michael Nakazawa, Pat Buck, and Christopher Daniels were all said to be suspended with the situation surrounding CM Punk and producer Ace Steel’s employment less clear.
Now Fightful Select has issued a new report suggesting that at least one of those suspended is back at work for AEW in Albany, NY. Company producer Pat Buck is backstage for Dynamite with the report noting that Buck was “integral” in splitting up the fight.
There is no word on the status of others although Head of Talent Relations Christopher Daniels, Kenny Omega, and Michael Nakazawa are all in Japan.
The Young Bucks, Ace Steel, and CM Punk are not at Dynamite – CM Punk looks likely to miss the rest of 2022 regardless after suffering an injury in the All Out main event.
The Wrestling Observer has since confirmed that Brandon Cutler is no longer suspended by AEW and has been cleared of any wrongdoing in relation to the fight. Given his status as part of The Young Bucks’ presentation on television, it remains to be seen if Cutler will appear before The Bucks’ suspension is up.
