Surprising Former WWE Star Was Once A Stunt Double For The Undertaker

The Undertaker

Two former WWE Superstars were used as stunt doubles for one of the greatest rivalries in professional wrestling.

An introductory video for WrestleMania 32 saw iconic moments from the biggest show of the year showcased. The archive footage would then cut to a close-up shot of a mystery figure dressed up as the Hall of Famer, each time with their face obscured.

The Undertaker Has Competed In 27 WrestleMania Matches

IMPACT Wrestling announcer Matt Rehwoldt, who was known as Aiden English in WWE, solved the mystery of who was portraying some of the legends back in 2016. Speaking on his Twitch channel in 2021, Rehwoldt revealed that he played Shawn Michaels in the video package, while the honour of portraying The Deadman went to former WWE star Big Cass:

“So I was flown there to film part of the intro for WrestleMania 32. Me, Chad Gable, and Big Cass played body-doubles for famous Superstars.”

Proof of the casting has been revealed due to a backstage photo. Twitter account Planeta Wrestling has posted pictures of Rehwoldt dressed as HBK and Cass as The Undertaker.

Along with being highlighted in the introduction, Undertaker also competed at WrestleMania 32. The WWE Hall of Famer competed in a Hell in a Cell match against Shane McMahon at the event, winning the match to extend the number of victories to 23. The match is best remembered for McMahon’s insane jump from the top of the structure, with Taker moving out of the way at the very last second.

Shawn Michaels would also make a cameo appearance during WrestleMania 32. The Heartbreak Kid would come to the ring along with Mick Foley and Steve Austin following The New Day’s victory over The League of Nations. All 3 of the legends would hit their finishers onto the faction, with Xavier Woods also being the victim of a Stone Cold Stunner.
