The Undertaker was involved in some incredible, and incredibly bizarre storylines during his time as a WWE Superstar. More often than not these surreal adventures involved his ‘family’ and almost horror film-esque backstory.
This acclaimed story involved The Deadman burning down the funeral home where he lived with his parents and younger brother. While his parents perished, his brother survived and later arrived in WWE in 1997 as Kane alongside The Undertaker’s former mentor Paul Bearer. The star wore a mask to hide the scars inflicted by the fire, although these scars were later said to be emotional. Despite this, no one is still quite sure where Katie Vick fits in.
The Undertaker Almost Had A Long Lost Son
While there is enough in that story to keep people going for decades, The Undertaker’s family tree almost gained another branch. In running down bizarre pitches that had been made backstage on Twitter, former WWE writer Brian Gewirtz revealed there had been calls for Kaval to be introduced as ‘Taker’s long lost son. The comments were in response to reports that Dwayne Johnson has been discussed as a potential entrant in the 2023 Royal Rumble. Gewirtz is a long-time friend of the star.
Kaval, better known as Low Ki signed with WWE in early 2009 and appeared in Florida Championship Wrestling, and the second season of NXT. The star arrived on SmackDown in September 2010, but was released by the company just three months later. Outside of WWE the star found success in TNA and MLW, as well as Ring of Honor where he became the first-ever ROH World Champion.
In 2010, The Undertaker and Kane resumed their on-off feud and battled over the World Heavyweight Championship. Their rivalry came to an end at Bragging Rights where Kane defeated his brother in a Buried Alive Match. This was the last time that the pair met in one-on-one action. It is likely that the pitch involving Kaval was made during this period.
