Surprise Name Pitches Match Against Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns & Paul Heyman

Roman Reigns has stood at the top of the WWE mountain for over two years. During this period he has seen off some of the very best that the company has to offer, as well as a WWE Hall of Famer.

While Reigns has defeated WWE stars such as John Cena, Edge and Brock Lesnar, it could be argued that his next challenger has very much come from left-field. At WWE Crown Jewel on November 5th, Reigns will be putting the gold on the line against Logan Paul.

The match was set up after Reigns appeared on Paul’s podcast and the YouTube star claimed that he could beat the Head of the Table if they competed in the ring.

Now another surprising name has suggested they could do “great business” with not only Reigns but a number of WWE’s top stars.

Rene Dupree Pitches Match Against Roman Reigns

Speaking on a recent episode of his Cafe de Rene podcast, former WWE Tag Team Champion Rene Dupree said he would like to team with, as well as wrestle Roman Reigns.

“Who’s the top guy in WWF [WWE] right now? Is it Roman [Reigns]? Him,” Dupree said. “And then I guess you can probably have us tag too and turn that into a [storyline]. I could do a lot of great business with all the top guys there. I know I could. It’s just up for the son-in-law [Triple H] to call me. That’s all you have to do. Pick up the phone.”

Rene Dupree signed with WWE in 2002 before debuting on the main roster in April 2003. The Canadian star remained with the company until July 2007. He later cited Chris Benoit’s double-murder suicide as the reason for his departure.

Meanwhile Roman Reigns recently celebrated 200 days as WWE Champion. The Tribal Chief has held the title since defeating Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38. Reigns has held the Universal Championship for a staggering 785 days and counting.
