SummerSlam, WWE’s self-styled ‘Biggest Party of the Summer’ just got a little bigger.
WWE have announced that as a result of a new partnership between themselves and Iconic Events, WWE SummerSlam will air live in movie theatres across the United States.
The spectacular which is set to take place on August 21st at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas will be available in theatres for the very first time.

STAMFORD, Conn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– WWE (NYSE: WWE) and Iconic Events Releasing today announced a new partnership that brings SummerSlam, WWE’s biggest event of 2021, to movie theaters nationwide for the first time. The event will air live on Saturday, August 21 at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT and will be one of the first sporting events held at full capacity at Allegiant Stadium, and the first time it will be held at an NFL venue.

Although no matches have yet been announced for the event, John Cena recently returned to WWE to lay down a challenge to Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
Following his triumphant return at WWE Money In The Bank, Cena kicked of RAW receiving a thunderous ovation as he made his way to the ring.
Once in the ring the 16-time world champion wasted no time in getting down to business. After praising the fans, Cena laid down a challenge to Reigns for SummerSlam.
