WWE has confirmed that their annual summer spectacular SummerSlam will break tradition and be held on a Saturday, with the event taking place on Saturday 21st of August, 2021 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
The stadium which is the home of the Las Vegas Raiders NFL franchise is yet to hold any kind of combat sports event. The Raiders played their first game in their new home in September of 2020 but there were no fans in attendance during the NFL season due to COVID protocols.
It was earlier suggested by Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast that SummerSlam could be heading to the stadium.
This backed up an earlier report from Dave Meltzer which said that the stadium was among the frontrunners to host the event.
It has since been confirmed by WWE that Summerslam will take place on Saturday August 21st at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
