Sting To Wrestle For First Time Since 2015 As Return Match Is Confirmed

Sting

AEW has confirmed that Sting will wrestle at AEW Revolution!

Posting on their official Twitter account, All Elite Wrestling confirmed that WCW legend Sting will team up with TNT Champion Darby Allin to take on Team Taz members Brian Cage and Ricky Starks on March 7th.

This past week on Dynamite, Team Taz seemingly challenged Allin and Sting to a fight – and it’s now official!

AEW’s recent landmark signing will wrestle at AEW Revolution for the first time since September 2015, when The Icon challenged Seth Rollins for the WWE Championship. The match would see Sting suffer a career-threatening injury following a buckle bomb – but the WWE Hall of Famer returns to action six years later at the age of 61.

There had been much speculation regarding the status of Sting in AEW after The Icon joined the company, with All Elite Wrestling even listing The Icon with a win-loss record on their roster page.

Back on December 3rd, it was announced that Sting had signed with AEW to a full-time contract.

“AEW has also confirmed tonight that it has officially signed Sting to a full-time, multi-year agreement.”

AEW Revolution takes place on March 7th via Fite TV.
