Sting’s Son Living & Training With AEW Star

Sting and his sons make their entrance at AEW Revolution

Sting‘s son Steven Borden has begun wrestling training with a top AEW star.

Revolution on March 3rd marked Sting’s final match after nearly 40 years in the wrestling business. He teamed with longtime partner Darby Allin to successfully defend the AEW Tag Team Championship in the main event of the show, and emotions were high throughout the night as The Icon’s career was celebrated.

In a nod to his past personas, the WWE Hall of Famer’s sons took part in the match, with Garrett Borden dressing up as Surfer Sting while Steven portrayed his father’s Wolfpac era.

During a recent interview with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful via Fightful Select, Darby Allin revealed that Sting’s son Steven Borden was sleeping in a tent in his front yard and using his wrestling ring to begin training. Allin said that while Borden didn’t initially have any desire to get into the world of wrestling, his participation in Revolution gave him the urge to try it out.

Recently it was reported that some AEW stars are frustrated over their lack of ring time.

What Advice Did Sting Give To His Sons Before AEW Revolution?

Speaking in a March interview with Steve Fall of WrestlingNews.co, Steven Borden opened up about his appearance during his father’s retirement match, revealing that The Icon told his sons to “enjoy the ride.” Borden had this to say:

“And he obviously knows Garrett and I, so his perspective was, like, ‘Let’s not try to plant a bunch of different thoughts in Stephens’s head or Garrett’s head about how they should or shouldn’t just kind of let them go out and do it.’ So it wasn’t like, ‘Make sure to impersonate me in this manner or, you know, do this because I did this it was let’s just go out there.’

“And ultimately, you know, it wasn’t about us at all anyways, and I think that especially the second that my dad walked out there, people could care less about Surfer or Wolf Pack Sting. So it was just basically go out there and have fun and enjoy the ride.” (h/t WrestlingNews.co)

Borden also opened up about the atmosphere at AEW Revolution during the interview. Sting’s son also opened up about his biggest fear going into the match, saying he didn’t want one spot to ruin the whole thing.
