It has been announced that Sting will once again join forces with Darby Allin at AEW Double or Nothing.
After a successful outing at AEW Revolution in March, the face paint adorned duo will face Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page on May 30th.
However, while their victory at Revolution came in a cinematic Street Fight, this time around the match will take place live at Daley’s Place. This means that the contest marks Sting’s first live, in-ring match since 2015.
On that occasion Sting was beaten by Seth Rollins at WWE Night Of Champions. At the time and in the years that followed, it was widely believed that the match would serve as Sting’s final bout due to injury. However, The Stinger confounded critics by returning to competition in March of this year.
Sting joined AEW in December of 2020 and immediately struck up an alliance with Darby Allin. The two kindred spirits have appeared by each others side in the months that have followed.
In recent weeks the pair have repeatedly clashed with Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page. On the May 12th episode of Dynamite, Allin lost his TNT Championship to Miro, in part due to the actions of Sky and Page. The previous week the pair had jumped Allin and thrown him down a flight of concrete steps leaving him far from 100% for his title defence.
