Sting Pulled From AEW Double Or Nothing Fan Fest Due To Injury

AEW have announced that Sting will miss the Double or Nothing fan fest event due to injury.

Sting will not be appearing at AEW’s Double or Nothing fan fest. Following the May 25th episode of Dynamite AEW announced that The Icon is unable to travel.

This means that he will not be at the event in Las Vegas.

The injury occurred on the May 18th edition of Dynamite after Jeff Hardy had been defeated by Adam Cole in the semi-final of the Owen Hart Tournament. After the match, The Undisputed Elite came to the ring to beatdown Matt and Jeff Hardy before Sting and Darby Allin ran down to try and even the odds.

In the midst of the brawl, Kyle O’Reilly trapped Sting’s leg inside a steel chair.

With the face-painted legend out of action, fans who had purchased tickets to meet the WCW legend will be given refunds.

On the following episode of Dynamite, the Young Bucks challenged The Hardys to a match at Double or Nothing. The Hardys and the Young Bucks haven’t met in the ring since competing in a Ladder Match at Ring of Honor’s Supercard of Honor on April 1st 2017.

Sting debuted with AEW in December 2020 at Winter is Coming, before going on to form an alliance with Darby Allin. Despite it previously being thought that The Icon had retired following a neck injury, the star returned to action at Revolution in March 2020.

Since then, the former WWE Superstar has continued to wrestle sporadically, but has remained a near-constant presence on AEW presence, often getting physically involved in storylines.
