Sting Getting “A Bunch Of Stitches” Following Insane Dive On AEW Dynamite

Sting

Sting rolled back the years one more time on the June 28th edition of AEW Dynamite, but this time he didn’t emerge unscathed.

In the main event, The Icon teamed with Darby Allin to take on “The Painmaker” Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara in a Tornado Tag Team Match. Naturally, chaos ensued with the four men brawling all over the arena. But the action reached a peak with a 64-year-old Sting perched at the top of a ladder.

The veteran then launched himself from the ladder in the ring onto Sammy Guevara and two tables that were waiting outside. However, the WWE Hall of Famer had a pretty rough landing, only partially breaking the first table, and banging his face off the edge of the furniture in the process.

Although he and Allin went on to win the match, Sting addressed his injuries after the show went off the air. Speaking to fans in a post-show promo, Sting said that he needed stitches in his lip and one of his teeth had almost been knocked out.

“I’m gonna have a bunch of stitches and my lip, and a tooth that seems halfway knocked out, and it was worth it to be right here. Thank you to Tony Khan for allowing me to do this,”

Will Sting Retire At AEW All In?

At the start of 2023, Sting revealed that he would be retiring at the end of his current contract, meaning that this year would be his last in the ring. However, no official retirement date has been set, leading many to wonder whether he will say goodbye in front of a packed house at Wembley Stadium for All In.

Despite the massive moment this would create, the man himself says he’ll be sticking around in AEW for a little while longer.
