Sting Attributes Final Match Success To Tony Khan

Following his retirement from professional wrestling at AEW Revolution 2024, Sting took to social media to express his gratitude and reflect on his illustrious career.

The AEW star conveyed his appreciation for Tony Khan acknowledging him for his unwavering support over the last three years. In a heartfelt message on X, Sting expressed:

Still on cloud nine from last Sunday. But it would not have been possible without @TonyKhan. Thank you for the last three-plus years, for your friendship… for everything. Thank you Tony!

Additionally, he extended his gratitude to his tag-team partner, Darby Allin, whom he referred to as the “best tag-team partner I ever had.” Sting’s final match at AEW Revolution saw him and Darby Allin successfully defend the AEW Tag Team titles against The Young Bucks. Subsequently, they relinquished the titles, and during the post-event press scrum, Tony Khan announced a tournament to crown new champions, set to commence on the upcoming Saturday on Collision.

When questioned about his plans for retirement, Sting revealed during the media scrum that he would engage in discussions with Khan regarding his future role. Despite affirming his disinterest in assuming a managerial or producer position, he expressed his willingness to have a dialogue with Khan about potential involvement in AEW.

What Did Sting Say To His Sons Before His Final Match?

Sting’s son, Steven Borden, said that his father simply said to he and his brother to “enjoy the ride” before they went out for his final match. Borden said that his father knew that he shouldn’t try and give him and his brother too much direction and instead let them go out and have fun with it.
