Sting is amongst a number of high profile AEW wrestlers currently announced for a wrestling show in Qatar: Pro Wrestling Qatar‘s SuperSlam 3.

Currently scheduled for October 23rd 2021, the show will feature ‘The Icon’ Sting as well as fellow AEW roster members. These include Penta El Zero M, Rey Fenix, Sammy Guevara, Brian Cage, Matt Sydal and Brian Pillman Jr. The promotion have also drafted in big names from outside AEW, with Eric Bischoff appearing as general manager and PJ Black, EC3 and Sin Cara all also announced for the show.

Sting has appeared for the promotion before at the first QPR SuperSlam where he saved Brian Cage from a beatdown, though recent hostilities between the men in recent weeks make that unlikely to happen again.

However, QPW do not seem content with just acquiring Sting and the other major AEW names for the show. As reported by Dave Melzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the promotion have also claimed to be in talks with a variety of other major stars to appear at the show. These include Kenny Omega, Jon Moxley, Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Bret Hart. Should Pro Wrestling Qatar be successful in getting Omega to appear, he may bring some friends

Meltzer also reported that Sonny Onoo has been hired to try to bring Japanese talent to the company. This includes bringing in wrestlers from All Japan Pro Wrestling, New Japan Pro Wrestling and Pro Wrestling NOAH. QPW have since announced this officially. Fans may remember Onoo for his tenure in WCW where he managed many of the promotions international stars. Among these were La Parka, Bull Nakano, Psychosis and Último Dragón.
