Stevie Boy & Sha Samuels Clash In ICW’s Lionheart League Final

Insane Championship Wrestling‘s inaugural Lionheart League tournament culminates tomorrow (Saturday, 6 February) on the WWE Network, as former ICW World Champion Stevie Boy takes on NXT UK’s Sha Samuels.

The Lionheart League would debut when ICW Fight Club migrated to the WWE Network, with the tournament paying tribute to former World Heavyweight Champion Adrian McCallum, known to the ICW loyal as Lionheart, who sadly passed away in 2019. The tournament features many of Adrian’s friends, colleagues and students.

The Lionheart League would see a Champions League-esque style format, with 16 stars split into four blocks of four. Matches were contested under traditional rules with a 20-minute time limit, and a win would gain two points for the victor, one for a draw, and no points for a loss. The winner and runner-up of each block would advanced to the knockout stages until only two remained.

The final, airing this Saturday on the WWE Network, between Stevie Boy and Sha Samuels will be the only match in the entire tournament to be contested under ICW rules – anything goes. The winner receives the Lionheart League trophy, and is a guaranteed World Heavyweight Championship match against current champion Noam Dar.

Stevie Boy, who would become the first man to hold the World Heavyweight Championship after the untimely passing of Lionheart, would comment:

“I’m used to grinding. I’m used to grafting. I’ll beat anybody that walks out the curtain. All I need is one last chance. I can’t let anybody stop me from getting to where I need to be.”

Meanwhile, Sha Samuels, who recently joined NXT UK, added:

“I’ve got a lot more years behind me than I do in front of me doing this. When I leave professional wrestling, I want them to say, ‘he was the best’. This probably is my last opportunity to be a World Heavyweight Champion.”

Watch ICW Fight Club every Saturday at 12 pm ET/5 pm GMT on WWE Network.
