Steve Austin Sports New Look In Super Bowl Ad; WWE NXT Star Hilariously Claims Gimmick Infringement

Stone Cold Steve Austin in a WWE ring

‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin is sporting a mullet in a new Super Bowl ad, much to the chagrin of one WWE NXT star.

Taking to Instagram, Austin showed off a picture of himself sporting a blond mullet as well as a shirt reading Austin 2:11. From the hashtags on the post, it’s clear that Austin will be part of an ad for Kawasaki to be aired during the upcoming Super Bowl on February 11th. Along with the photo, Austin wrote:

“Notice anything different? Yep, it’s the shirt… #BigGame #SB58 #Mullet #SteveAustin #Kawasaki #GoodTimes”

“You Stole My Childhood” – Lexis King To Steve Austin

Austin was famously good friends with the late Brian Pillman, who tragically passed away in 1997. After teaming together as the Hollywood Blonds in WCW, the two men found themselves in a feud when Pillman arrived in WWE (then WWF) that led to Austin invading Pillman’s home shortly after taking credit for breaking his ankle in October of 1996.

While the controversial segment is most remembered for Pillman pulling a gun on Austin and the feed cutting after a shot was heard, the show also featured Austin beating up two on-screen friends of his rival. During the course of the beatdown, footage captured Austin causing destruction to both a children’s pool and a red wagon.

Brian Pillman Jr. has continued his family’s legacy in sports entertainment, sporting a mullet similar to that of his father. However, he recently renounced his father’s name and is now known as Lexis King in WWE NXT. In a comment on Austin’s Intagram post, King hilariously accused the Texas Rattlesnake of stealing his gimmick before bringing up the home invasion incident, saying it “ruined his childhood.”

“Stealing my gimmick just like you stole my childhood after ruthlessly destroying my kiddie pool!!!”

When asked in a recent interview about a potential rematch with The Rock, Steve Austin had a hilarious answer.
